Real data vs estimates

Most tools show you an estimate. We show you your own numbers.

Third-party SEO data is modelled from crawls and panels. That is a reasonable way to size a site nobody has access to. Your own site you do have access to — so TriRank reads it directly.

Third-party estimates

Modelled — directional

  • Built from crawls and panels, then modelled: the figure approximates what a page in that position could get, rather than recording what it got.
  • The same numbers anyone can look up about your domain, without your permission and without your account.
  • Genuinely useful for sizing competitors and markets you have no way to measure directly.
TriRank

Measured — verifiable

  • Clicks, impressions and average position read from the Google Search Console property you connect.
  • Your own rows: you can open Search Console yourself and see the same figures we report.
  • Pulled daily, so a week-over-week move is a measurement of what changed, not a re-run of a model.
One keyword, on a site we run ourselves
~231

Estimated monthly traffic for that keyword, from a third-party dataset.

1

Clicks the keyword actually earned in 28 days — against 1,115 impressions at an average position of 30.6, per Search Console. A fixed reading from one 28-day window, not a live figure: it is not refreshed, and the point it makes is the gap between the two columns, not today's number.

Both figures are correct about what they measure. The estimate models the traffic a ranking page could receive; Search Console records what this page received. Neither vendor is wrong — but only one of them is your number.

TriRank still shows third-party estimates, labelled as estimates, for any domain that is not connected — that is what the free audit runs on. Once Search Console is connected, the estimate stops being the answer.

TriRank writes articles on the keywords you set, can push them to your CMS — WordPress, Ghost or Webflow — as drafts, and checks every 3 days whether ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews cite you.
