Which categories do AI answers skip you in?

When someone asks an answer engine for alternatives to a product, it names a handful of brands. These pages show, category by category, how many of the brands we measured were named — and how many were not.

Measured on 101 brands with 3 prompts each, by Perplexity (sonar) alone, in 2026-07. Categories with fewer than 4 measured brands are not published: 13 of 23 categories appear here.

Answer engines are not deterministic. The same question asked twice can name different brands, and these readings are one engine's answers in one month, not a ranking and not a forecast. Nothing here says a product is better or worse than another; it says whether the engine mentioned it.
