Best Way to Track AI Visibility for an Agency
How to track AI visibility for your agency across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini — and unify SEO, AEO, and GEO reporting.
The problem
Unify SEO, AEO, and GEO tracking under one roof
TriRank gives agencies dated observations of where each client appears in AI answers, with evidence to help choose what to investigate next. Run a free audit on a client domain to see the baseline before you pitch the retainer.
Start your free auditFor a small agency, begin with one client question: which buyer questions have usable citation evidence, and what should we investigate next? A screenshot from a different prompt or date is not a baseline. Fix the site, wording, engines and observation window before comparing readings.
Establish the measurement scope
Record the client-owned site and the questions that matter to its buyers. Keep Google search performance separate from AI citations. Search Console can tell you about Google clicks, impressions and average position; it cannot alone verify what a separate AI assistant cited.
Name the actual engine surface. Gemini grounding, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode are distinct readings. Successful answers, explicit negative verdicts, failed responses and questions not yet checked should remain distinguishable. Include the date and denominator when you give a rate. Different clients with different question sets cannot be fairly ranked by one blended score.
Choose one documented next action
Use the existing prioritized evidence queue to select one problem. Check the source and target page, explain why the task is relevant to the client's business, and review the proposed output. Do not promise that passing a structural check earns an AI citation.
Content work uses the account's existing credits and permissions. Confirm the destination before delivery and keep the draft review step. Recording a task as complete does not prove the page went live. Ask the client to verify publication before using it as a timeline anchor.
Deliver a report the client can inspect
Show the current observations, recorded work, missing data and next review date. A later search or citation change can be reported as a change in that window, without claiming the prior work caused it. A small agency should validate the usefulness of this workflow with one client before scaling to a larger portfolio.
The sample audit uses fdmini.com, a site we own. Our dated own-site case uses trirankai.com. They demonstrate a format and a process, not independent customer growth or a guarantee of client results.
Use your existing assistant
The MCP task instructions show how to read a weekly report or citation gaps. The connection reads account-scoped data and cannot publish or delete content. Check the returned dates and unknown states before sharing a summary with a client.
Start with one AI visibility check, inspect a real deliverable, then compare current plans with the work you actually need. If you prefer a conversational SEO workflow, the ChatSEO comparison explains that choice without assuming that billing units are equivalent.
FAQ
How do you track AI visibility across multiple clients?+
Run a fixed set of prompts on a schedule against each engine, log which sources get cited, and report the trend per client. Keep a documented prompt set and measurement scope for each client; scheduled results still depend on successful engine responses.
Which AI engines should an agency monitor?+
Choose engines relevant to the client and inspect the successful readings available. Gemini grounding, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode are distinct surfaces; do not merge them.
Can you report AI visibility to clients each month?+
Yes. Report dated citation observations, their denominators and missing checks alongside recorded work. These observations do not establish that a change caused an outcome.
